HATE: ZX Spectrum

The ZX Spectrum is an 8-bit personal home computer released in the UK in 1982 by Sinclair Research Ltd, which sold in excess of 5 million units worldwide. More than 10,000 games were released for the ZX Spectrum.

H.A.T.E. for the ZX Spectrum (one of fewer than 200 ZX Spectrum games being re-released as a Windows 8 app) is one of THE defining games of the 1980s.

The H.A.T.E.: ZX Spectrum app is the near-100% original ZX Spectrum game, as developed by Votex Software and published by Gremlin in 1989 and is brought to you - as an officially licenced product - utilizing our ZX Spectrum: Elite Collection HD technology.

About H.A.T.E.: The year is AD 2320 and the Galaxy is in turmoil with the alien threat ever increasing, the lack of experienced assault personnel is severely undermining the defence of the civilized sectors. You are needed to repel the hostile alien forces – but you have to qualify first. Prepare to go to Stripworld – the training ground for all Galactic Fighter Pilots!

Game-play H.A.T.E.: H.A.T.E.: Hostile All-Terrain Encounter is an isometric scrolling shoot 'em up similar to Sega's Zaxxon. A major game-play difference from Zaxxon is the ability to play with either an airplane or a tank.

About Elite®: Elite Systems Ltd was incorporated in England in 1984.
